Enhancing the Lives of Homeless & Poverty Stricken Keiki

Mahalo to All !!

Progress and Updates about our past events. Thank you to all those who help to keep our programs successfully enhancing the lives of our precious keiki.

WOW!! We have found almost 100 homeless keiki now in O'ahu, so we are progressively reconnecting with our precious keiki...holidays are looking bright...keep you posted.
For Big Island, we are still conitnuing our supportive services and outreach, but of course our keiki on Big Island were not lost...

Where to find the Displaced homeless keiki on O'ahu???

Aloha everyone, Just to keep you updated, we have been slowly but surely finding these precious keiki. Some are in other beach areas hidden along the coast, and some are high in the mountains hoping for a better location to come along. We were able to find some through the support of the community and the elementry teachers this summer. So progressively we will find these children and be able to provide a wonderful holiday season once again this year.

Summer Camp 2012 Updates:
Mahalo to all those who made the difference this year!!
While this year fell short on enrollment, we were still able to bring new keiki into the program and help them on their path to success. Our Adventures Abound Day was so much fun!! Although we didn't add many new adventures, our tride and true were still a complete success. Mahalo to those who continue to support our efforts: 'Imiloa Astronomy Center, CALTech, Palace Theater and Cosmic Cones.
WOW!! Talk about Cabin Fever!! This year our sleepover camp was pretty much rained out, so we spent most of our time indoors. That is difficult for little one's, but it was still a joy to know they are getting the attention, education and nutrition their bodies need to grow strong and healthy.
We are also so happy to be able to include many new faces to help with the daily activities of camp.
Mahalo to all those who took their time and made the difference this year!!

Teen Mentoring Support

Mahalo to all those who made a difference. Our teen mentors dedicate their summer to work hands on with the homeless keiki, as well as participate in various fundraising events to assure the over all success of the camp. While our teens are also benefiting from the leadership and mentoring workshops, and various self-esteem programs, they would not be able to have TEENAGE fun without the support of our community!  For more information on helping a teen succeed, please contact us.

Easter 2012

Mahalo to all those who helped make this year a success. We were able to provide the keiki living hidden in the bushes of Waianae with a wonderful Easter bag filled with hygiene, toys and a wonderful lunch.

Thanks to Old Navy and their staff for providing us with Color Books and Crayons, as well as donating their time at our fundraising events. MAHALO!!

Thank you to our other great donors who made all this possible providing wonderful goody bags, sand pails, bubbles, and hygiene products for our keiki. And the keiki want to say Mahalo for the wonderful lunch items!!

(due to the privacy of our donors we do not list names here)

Without the support of our great volunteers who came out to help at our collections, we would not have been able to provide a wonderful Easter for our keiki.  Those groups and individuals truly made a difference. We were able to raise a little of 1,000.00 for the Easter celebrations!!

Waianae Keiki Evicted from their "homes"

As many of you know, these children have been moved from the beaches, along the waters edge and pushed deep into the bushes of Waianae. These children have seen heart ache and loss beyond words, or even the knowing of what it means to be displaced.

Well once again they have been moved out of site, and of course out of mind of those who don't want to know they are even there.

While driving to Waianae on Easter Sunday, we were told by our little one's "Aunty did you know we have to move on Monday"?

"NO" I replied. Asking the parents where they thought they were going, they responded, I don't know, or we will find another place without those posted signs.

So, as I left with sadness in my heart, I found one of those eviction letters, posted below.

So, the hunt is on once again. I will be on O'ahu at the end of this month and throughout May seeking out my keiki, finding the most of them to get them ready for our summer activities.
